About this site
A small independent site about consumer security, funded by affiliate commission and honest about it.
What this site is
novatova.online explains consumer computer security in plain language: what the products actually do, what the marketing terms mean, where the real risks come from, and where a paid product is genuinely better than what you already have. It is a small, independent editorial site. We publish carefully rather than often.
Who publishes it
The site is published by Consortexa s.r.o., a company registered in the Czech Republic. Editorial responsibility rests with Ashley Jackson, director of publication, who reviews and signs off everything that appears here.

How it is funded, in one paragraph
By affiliate commission. When a reader buys a product through one of our partner links, the advertiser pays us; the reader pays the same price they would pay going direct. We take no display advertising, no sponsored posts and no payment for favourable coverage, and no advertiser sees an article before it is published. The full explanation is in the affiliate disclosure, and the rules we hold ourselves to are in the editorial policy.
What makes this site different from most affiliate sites
- We tell you when you do not need to buy. Our main article says in plain terms that a reader who keeps Windows patched and is content with Microsoft Defender may not need a paid product at all.
- We publish our own mistakes. The Norton article carries a public list of the claims we removed from an earlier version of it, including a wrong statement about a bundled VPN.
- We track nothing. No cookies, no analytics, no pixels, no third-party requests. We do not know how many people read this page. See the cookie policy, which also tells you how to verify the claim yourself.
- No star ratings. We do not run a laboratory, so we do not publish scores. We point at the people who do run laboratories and explain how to read their results.
- Original illustrations only. Every diagram on this site was drawn by us as an SVG file. No vendor screenshots, no brand artwork, no stock photography.
- No urgency tricks. No countdowns, no fake scarcity, no "offer ends tonight".
What we cover
- Consumer security software: what each tier includes, what it leaves out, how the pricing and renewal actually work.
- The mechanics behind the marketing: how detection engines work, what behavioural monitoring means, what exploit mitigation can and cannot do.
- Threat reality: how malware and fraud actually reach ordinary people, grounded in public reporting from ENISA, Europol, CISA and NÚKIB rather than in vendor press releases.
- Practical resilience: backups, passwords, updates — the unglamorous measures that do most of the work.
What we are not
We are not a testing laboratory, not a security consultancy, and not connected to any of the vendors we write about. Norton and Norton 360 are trade marks of Gen Digital Inc.; Consortexa s.r.o. is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Gen Digital Inc. or any other vendor named on this site.
